About Word Search Online
Word Search Online is a free place to play word search in your browser. No sign-up, no download, and a brand new grid every time you want one.
Why we made it
My mum was always playing the games that came with Windows: Minesweeper, Solitaire, and anything else she could find on the menu. They were simple, they started in a second, and they never asked for anything. That is the feeling we are trying to keep. Word search fits it perfectly: you can play one in five minutes with a cup of tea, or lose an hour in a big grid on a Sunday.
Plenty of word search sites already exist, but many are slow, covered in pop-ups, or recycle the same few puzzles. We wanted grids that are made fresh every time, checked so every word appears exactly once, and pleasant to look at on a phone as well as a computer.
What you get
- Four levels, from a 10 × 10 grid with 8 words to an 18 × 18 grid with 22.
- A Daily puzzle that is the same for everyone, with a streak.
- Puzzles for children with big letters and simple words.
- Hints, rotating the grid, printing and eight colour themes.
- Calm music that carries on as you move around the site.
Who runs the site
Word Search Online is made by David at Lunar Interactive Arts Ltd, a small games and apps studio in London, registered in England and Wales. The studio also makes the mobile game Word Search World Tours, starring Miso the Adventure Cat, and runs a set of free browser games under the name Web Games Online: Solitaire, Mahjong, Sudoku, Minesweeper, Backgammon and this site.
